Multiple linear regression analysis of RF values of chlorinated catechols and guaiacols

The multiple linear regression analysis of the RF values of chlorinated catechols and guaiacols has been carried out. The resolved terms, in the regression equation have been used to explain the relative mobility of chlorinated compounds to the reference compound (catechol or guaiacol). The best correlations have been observed for solvent systems which give the greatest standard deviations and relative differences between the RF values. A good correlation between the standard deviation of the RF values and the term which represents the effect of the chlorine atom ortho to the hydroxyl group(s) have also been observed.

Efficient Resolution of Menthylamine with Inexpensive (R,R)-Tartaric Acid by Dielectrically Controlled Resolution (DCR)

A practical procedure for the resolution of menthylamine 2 with (R,R)-tartaric acid [(R,R)-3] as resolving agent is presented. Variation of the solvent system allows both enantiomers of 2 to be selectively crystallized. Performing the resolution in methanol containing 6 % water leads to (–)-2·(R,R)-3·MeOH. The other, less-soluble diastereomeric salt is obtained by applying a solvent system consisting of methanol with 19 % water with a yield of 14 %. Subsequent basic workup with aqueous sodium hydroxide gave the free menthylamine compounds. Further workup of the mother liquors and an additional recrystallization step allowed the (–)-2·(R,R)-3·MeOH salt to be obtained in an overall yield of 2…

Durch Kombination stationarer und instationarer Methodik (rotierender Sektor) werden die Absolutwerte der Geschwindigkeitskonstanten von Kettenwachstum und Kettenabbruch von Benzylmethacrylat unter dem Einflus verschieden viskoser Losungsmittel bestimmt. Die Radikalausbeute f hangt von der Viskositat des Losungssystems und der Art der Monomeren, dagegen nicht (oder fast nicht) von der Konzentration des Monomeren und der Geschwindigkeit der Radikalerzeugung ab. Cation exchange-based post-processing of 68Ga-eluate: A comparison of three solvent systems for labelling of DOTATOC, NO2APBP and DATAm

Interest in (68)Ga has led to a number of innovations for its provision suitable for clinical application. Several post-processing methods are available to reduce eluate volume and remove metal trace impurities. In this work three cation exchange resin based post-processing methods (acetone, ethanol and NaCl) have been compared, using three model precursors (DOTATOC, NO2AP(BP) and DATA(m)), in terms of labelling yield and reproducibility. The acetone and ethanol based methods provided greater reproducibility and yields that makes subsequent purification unnecessary.

The conversion from cellulose I to cellulose II in NaOH mercerization performed in alcohol–water systems: An X-ray powder diffraction study

Abstract The slurry-mercerization (SM) processes in 2-propanol–water and 2-propanol–ethanol–water and wet-mass-mercerization (WMM) process in ethanol–water solvents are investigated. Based on X-ray diffraction measurements in the earlier reports, we have derived a mathematical method to evaluate more exactly the conversion of cellulose I (CI) to cellulose II (CII) and used it to survey the effects of different alkali treatments on cellulose crystals. This method is very useful when the crystal system changes in a certain set of experiments are compared with each other. Thin-layer chromatography of chlorinated cresols

Abstract The thin-layer chromatography of four chlorinated cresols was studied on five layer materials using eleven solvent systems. Sharp spots were obtained except on Kieselguhr G layers. The best separation of the individual compounds occurred on silica gel-containing layers with dichloromethane as the solvent. Each solvent system was found to cause a different separation on different layers.
